The first in a series of updates that will put more control than ever in the hands of our clients will be released on April 29.

Additional Comments can be used in any field with a gear icon on the right side of the input field.

Currently, Additional Comments enable users to create personalized statements, outside of the generated findings and conclusions statements in the worksheets. The April 29 release will make it even easier for users to personalize the documentation of imaging reports, while allowing administrators to maintain control over the quality and consistency of the verbiage used.

If you do nothing, after the April 29 release, all functionality will stay the same with regard to using or editing additional comments. However, with this new update, you will also be gaining some new tools!

1 – Change Additional Comment access to read and apply only.

Admin users will now have the ability to manage individual user access to Additional Comments, with the “Create additional comments” permission.

This permission is enabled by default. To remove the ability for users to create or edit additional comments, you can remove the Create Additional Comments permission. Users without this permission will still be able to use Additional Comments that are associated with the current study’s reading group, but they will not be able to edit or add to the existing list.

2 – Group Additional Comments by topic/application.

Additional comment list items can now be grouped. These groups will be visible both in the Comments editor (shown below), and in the Additional Comments list when selecting an item to apply within the worksheet.

3 – Additional Comments section in Studycast Admin Tools.

Administrative users can now easily manage Additional Comments in the Admin Tools.

The selection fields at the top of the page enable filtering and searching to streamline the management of comments and lists. Comments can also be grouped or reordered with a simple drag-and-drop interface.

From the Additional Comments page in Admin tools, lists of comments can be assigned to new reading groups, or removed from existing reading groups. The comments within lists can be edited, or removed, and new comments can be added here as well.
